Death March

Brady Tuazon, Justice Constantine and Ryan Gamo grew up in Southern California during the 80’s and 90’s. As American born children of Filipino immigrants, their cultural upbringing gave them a unique perspective as they navigated through life and the Southern California music scene. Their paths started to cross in the 90’s as Brady and Ryan attended the same school. Concurrently, Brady and Justice worked on separate music projects and attended shows with friends in the same social circle. Many years would go by before the three of them would finally collaborate and form Death March.

Brady became reacquainted with Justice in 2007 as their bands Resa, Piltatope and Son of Heatwave played shows at the Prospector in Long Beach, California.

Fast forward a number of years Brady, moved up to Portland with Ryan following soon after. The two collaborated frequently on songs that Brady had been working on. In 2019, Brady enlisted the help of Jusitce to play a few shows in Southern California and aid him in recording a few songs. During their recording sessions the pieces of Death March started to fall into place. Brady had long held the idea of doing Death March as an homage to what his grandparents endured and survived during War World 2. With Justice already tracking drums on Brady’s solo project, Brady shared a couple Death March songs. Reeling from the excitement of those songs, they quickly reached out to Ryan to join and make the project complete. Over the course of the next week, the three worked together to laying down the foundation of the EP that would define Death March.

Their EP, “Tarantado” will be released on cassette in September of 2020. The band is currently working on a full LP and collaborating with various artists to further realize their shoegaze vision.
